- Test sprinkler(s) alarms – wet systems thorough inspector’s test connection, paddle flow systems thorough by-pass.
- Test water supply thorough sprinkler drain and record normal and flowing pressures.
- Test operation of excess pressure pumps and air compressors.
- Test supervisory alarm devices (tamper switches, low pressure switches).
- Test antifreeze solution.
- Trip test of dry pipe(s) sprinkler systems.
- Inspect priming water level in dry pipe valves.
- Remove plugs from fire department connection and inspect threads for wear, rust or obstruction and lubricate.
- Re-secure plugs wrench tight.
- Check fire department pumper connections for accessibility
- Clean strainer in alarm line to mechanical sprinkler alarm
- Lubricate water motor gong
Fire Pumps Inspection - Annual Inspection
All work will be performed in accordance with NFPA 20, the Ontario Fire Code and Local Fire Department standards as follows, where applicable:
1-Test and inspect fire pumps.
2-Check fire pump operation.
3-Perform flow test thorough most remote fire hose station.
4-Test all supervisory valves.
5-Test pressure switches.
